Iron Mask the Musical
The history of the man in the iron mask
The story of the Iron Mask, well known from famous novel of Alexander Dumas and multiple screen versions, still fascinates minds.
Was it for real? How could that happen? Why lust for power makes people blind?
Inspired by the novel, Ross Unger began working on the musical in 2005.
In 2007 he produced a 45-minute pilot version with live singing but pre-recorded backing. Only in July 2009 first full version of Iron Mask was staged live in concert in Melbourne High School.
The score is written for 25-piece orchestra, 6 leading roles and 16-voice choir.
